Josh Hawley (R-MO) going so far as to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/news\/pro-life-senators-slam-trump-admin-for-lack-of-progress-on-abortion-pill-safety-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">question<\/a>\u00a0if the study was underway at all. Administration officials have insisted that the review was still coming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Now, the\u00a0<em>Wall Street Journal<\/em>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/w16fQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reports<\/a>\u00a0that commencement of the review was \u201ckicked\u2026 into high gear\u201d thanks to pressure on the White House from pro-life advocates, as well as an October deadline imposed by a judge\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/news\/judge-rejects-louisiana-challenge-to-fda-abortion-pill-rules-gives-trump-review-more-time\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">as part of<\/a>\u00a0Louisiana\u2019s lawsuit against the federal government. The report suggests that, all this time, the agency has allegedly been \u201cmaking preparations by acquiring data and examining whether a study was feasible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cThe effort is expected to take about six months, administration officials said, meaning it likely won\u2019t be completed before the midterm elections,\u201d WSJ adds, lending credence to allegations and speculation that the administration was intentionally foot-dragging so as to prevent the eventual findings from influencing voters this fall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The news follows the May\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/news\/breaking-trump-says-marty-makary-is-out-as-fda-chief\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ouster<\/a>\u00a0of FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary, whose tenure was marred by discontent over his handling of several issues, including abortion pills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Remote distribution of abortion pills to be taken at home has become key to the abortion lobby\u2019s effort to preserve \u201caccess\u201d in a post-<em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>&nbsp;environment, despite the risks to the women who take them and their fatal harm to the unborn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Pro-lifers point to an April 2025&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/eppc.org\/stop-harming-women\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">analysis<\/a>&nbsp;by the Ethics and Public Policy Center (EPPC), which concluded that almost 11 percent of women suffer sepsis, infection, hemorrhaging, or other major conditions after taking mifepristone, according to insurance data, plus&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ffroa.com\/chemical-abortion-research\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">similar findings<\/a>&nbsp;by the Restoration of America Foundation, as part of a \u201cgrowing body of evidence indicating that the health risks associated with mifepristone abortions are severe, widespread, and significantly underreported.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">While pro-lifers would welcome any change to the current permissive rules, many have consistently said that the above evidence should render a new review unnecessary to take action, as should the fact that distributing abortion-inducing drugs by mail is already illegal under federal law, irrespective of safety. The Biden administration ceased enforcement of that provision in response to&nbsp;<em>Roe v.
