There\u2019s really a deeply embedded,&nbsp; I would say malaise at the agency.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Kennedy\u2019s statement is especially significant because he has long been firmly pro-abortion politically while attempting to distinguish between his \u201cpersonal\u201d views on abortion and his belief about whether it should be legal. When he ran as an independent presidential candidate in 2024, he\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/news\/rfk-jr-says-he-would-codify-nationwide-right-to-abortion-if-elected-president\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>\u00a0would sign a federal law codifying a nationwide \u201cright\u201d to abortion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">During this time, he expressed his belief \u201cthat every abortion is a tragedy\u201d while insisting that \u201cwomen should make the choice\u201d of abortion. Last year, he went so far as to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/news\/rfk-jr-confirms-he-supports-legal-abortion-up-until-birth-in-new-interview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">declare<\/a>\u00a0that he believes women should be able to kill even late-term babies through abortion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Having been asked during his Fox News interview about CDC Director Susan Monarez\u2019s ouster on Wednesday, Kennedy said he could not comment about personnel issues but that he and his team are working on \u201cfixing\u201d the agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cAnd it may be that some people should not be working there anymore,\u201d Kennedy stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Kennedy triggered the ouster when he asked Monarez to resign,&nbsp;<em>The New York Times&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/08\/27\/health\/cdc-monarez-kennedy-vaccines.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported.<\/a>&nbsp;When she refused, he told her \u201cto fire CDC\u2019s top leadership,\u201d according to an official who spoke anonymously \u201cfor fear of retribution.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cDr. Monarez then called Bill Cassidy, the Republican Chairman of the Senate Health Committee, who in turn called Kennedy,\u201d the official said.
