She was between 18 and 22 weeks pregnant and underwent a two-day, second trimester D&amp;E (dismemberment) abortion, which involves the use of a Sopher clamp to tear the baby\u2019s arms and legs off her torso before crushing her skull. Court documents note that&nbsp;<em>no digoxin<\/em>&nbsp;was administered prior to the abortion to ensure \u201cfetal demise,\u201d and four dilators were inserted into her cervix to prepare her for the abortion the next day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">During that abortion on April 2, Reisinger-Kindle reportedly perforated the woman\u2019s uterus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Perforated uterus and retained fetal parts are known risks of a D&amp;E; however, Reisinger-Kindle had noted he \u201cvisibly inspected\u201d the \u201cproducts of conception\u201d and \u201cconfirmed\u201d that the abortion was \u201ccomplete.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"2nd Trimester Abortion | Dilation and Evacuation (D&amp;E) | What Is Abortion?\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eR1Ut4BPbOw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">According to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/abortiondocs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Complaint.Filed-1-2.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">court documents<\/a>, the following day, the woman began suffering from heavy abdominal cramps, \u201cpressures\u201d in her \u201cbottom\u201d and other pain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Staff at Equity Clinic advised her to take ibuprofen and a laxative. The next day, she went to the ER where scans revealed \u201cthe remains of \u2018half of a deceased pre-born human being\u2019 \u2026 in her right pelvis.\u201d According to court documents, the operative notes stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><em>The patient was found to have half of a deceased pre-born human being in the right pelvis of the patient with evidence of severe and intentional trauma.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><em>The baby\u2019s body was transected at the pelvis with no legs or feet present. Stumps of both femurs extended from the soft tissue of the torso. The upper extremities were missing from elbow distally on both sides. The skull was crushed and no brain was present. The face was non-recognizable. \u2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><em>There were small bony fragments in the mother\u2019s pelvis. There was a hole in the posterolateral inferior aspect of the right uterus which was approximately the size of a quarter to half-dollar. \u2026 There was a baby skull that was adherent to the patient\u2019s ileum&nbsp;<\/em>[part of the small intestine]<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A privacy irony<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">When the surgeon attempted to speak with Reisinger-Kindle after undoing the abortionist\u2019s damage, Reisinger-Kindle allegedly refused to provide any information, claiming he did not have the woman\u2019s consent to discuss her case with the surgeon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Court documents then allege that Reisinger-Kindle spoke with the woman later that same day, failed to ask for her consent to speak to the hospital surgeon, and also claimed he would \u201clook again\u201d to see if he could identify the sex of the woman\u2019s baby upon her request \u2014 knowing that her child\u2019s remains were already disposed of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Despite Reisinger-Kindle\u2019s apparent concern for the woman\u2019s privacy back in April, he recently called for the public release of her name as the Plaintiff in the lawsuit. Ironically, his attorneys&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/state-fines-reprimands-illinois-abortion-213300855.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">argued in a memorandum<\/a>&nbsp;that since \u201c[t]he complaint does not involve claims of sexual assault, domestic violence, human trafficking, or other circumstances where anonymity is more commonly granted to protect a party\u2019s safety or psychological well-being,\u201d that her name should be made public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">They also \u201cfiled a request for a gag order, citing widespread media coverage of the case,\u201d according to the Chicago Tribune.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The woman\u2019s attorney argued that she should be able to file suit anonymously because \u201cthe case deals with abortion, an undeniably sensitive subject that has long been recognized as falling within the zone of personal privacy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The irony here is that after&nbsp;<em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>&nbsp;was overturned in the&nbsp;<em>Dobbs<\/em>&nbsp;Supreme Court decision in 2022, pro-abortion officials went to great lengths to protect the \u2018privacy\u2019 of abortion patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">In 2023, the Biden-Harris administration \u201cissued a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2023\/04\/17\/2023-07517\/hipaa-privacy-rule-to-support-reproductive-health-care-privacy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM)<\/a>&nbsp;to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/biden-administration-change-hipaa-laws-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">modify<\/a>&nbsp;the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule,\u201d adding the new category of \u201creproductive health care\u201d which would \u201cinclude abortion,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/shielding-abortion-providers-consequences-women-risk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">shield abortionists<\/a>&nbsp;by prohibiting (under HIPAA) the release of protected health information (PHI) for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/families-haunted-memories-loved-killed-legal-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">criminal or civil investigations<\/a>, and define \u2018person\u2019 to&nbsp;<em>exclude<\/em>&nbsp;a human being in the womb (an embryo or fetus),\u201d as Live Action News&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/biden-hhs-roe-medical-privacy-dehumanize\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">previously reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">HHS said they did this because&nbsp;<em>Dobbs&nbsp;<\/em>\u201ccreated new concerns about the privacy of [personal health information]\u201d due to pro-life state laws either making abortion illegal or restricting it. \u201cThe Department is aware of reports that persons or authorities have reached or intend to reach beyond their own states\u2019 borders to investigate reproductive health care that has been performed in other states where that health care is legal. These actions present new concerns nationwide for the protection of health information privacy mandated by HIPAA,\u201d the proposal stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">It\u2019s also ironic, as abortionists don\u2019t seem to be concerned with patient privacy when it suits their pro-abortion agenda; an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/abortionist-violated-10-year-privacy-bold-claims\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Indiana abortionist<\/a>&nbsp;was&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/abortionist-reprimanded-violating-privacy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reprimanded<\/a>&nbsp;and fined by the state medical board for violating patient privacy by going to the media with information about one of her patients, a 10-year-old rape survivor from Ohio \u2014 entirely for political reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Reisinger-Kindle has been sued before; he was a defendant in a 2021&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/abortiondocs.org\/abortionists\/keith-reisinger-kindle-do\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Massachusetts case<\/a>&nbsp;involving a woman with a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/abortiondocs.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Keith-Reisinger-Kindle-DO.-Massachusetts-Court-Case-12-15-2021.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">high-risk pregnancy<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Bottom Line:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Despite the apparent egregious negligence exhibited by some abortionists, it seems they can&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/nebraska-abortion-facility-leroy-carhart-injury\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">injure<\/a>&nbsp;and even in some cases&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/horrific-history-late-term-abortionist-leroy-carhart\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">kill patients and still remain in business<\/a>&nbsp;to do more damage. If a physician is a danger to women, it is a public issue; seeking a gag order surrounding such an event appears to show little care for her, or for other women and their safety.
