As the Senate continues to propose changes to the \u201cOne Big Beautiful Bill Act\u201d \u2013 the legislation that could defund Planned Parenthood for the next ten years \u2013 The House has\u00a0launched a deep-dive investigation<\/a>\u00a0into Planned Parenthood and\u00a0its possible use of federal funds for \u201cunpermitted purposes.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a letter<\/a> sent to Alexis McGill Johnson, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood, Rep. Marjorie Greene requested all of Planned Parenthood\u2019s non-public financial statements and annual reports, as well as a large catalogue of other documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rep. Greene is the Chairwoman of the Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency (DOGE). She has asked Planned Parenthood to answer the committee\u2019s request no later than June 27. Additionally, Rep. Greene is requesting a \u201cstaff-level briefing\u201d from Planned Parenthood no later than June 20, with briefers prepared to answer direct questions about federal funds and revenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investigation also includes assessing Planned Parenthood\u2019s policies and practices involving fetal tissue collection. Rep. Greene requested policies, procedures and guidelines for everything from collecting or supplying fetal tissue to compliance with the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rep. Greene writes, \u201cDisturbingly, Planned Parenthood abortion centers across the country continue the practice of late-term abortions on healthy babies and mothers, and to participate in supplying \u2018preemie\u2019 aborted babies for organ harvesting experiments with government research funding. Planned Parenthood clinics have begun openly advertising late\u2013term abortions into the seventh month of pregnancy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The letter also discusses Planned Parenthood\u2019s contract with University of California San Diego (UCSD) for an ongoing supply of aborted babies in exchange for \u201cthe \u2018valuable consideration\u2019 of owning intellectual property developed from experimenting on them.\u201d Records from UCSD describe aborted babies up to 23 weeks gestation as \u201cviable\u201d and \u201cnonanomalous.\u201d In other words, perfectly healthy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe already know Planned Parenthood is deeply involved in the illegal sale of baby body parts, and the gruesome harvest of intact babies, often born alive, often healthy,\u201d says Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue and Co-Founder of the Center for Medical Progress \u2013 the group that first exposed this grisly\u00a0truth about Planned Parenthood back in 2015<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd we have no doubt Planned Parenthood is misusing federal funds. The abortion giant has a documented history of Medicaid fraud, and even its own employees have been in the news this past year\u00a0blowing the whistle<\/a>\u00a0on its mismanagement of funds. Planned Parenthood doesn\u2019t just need to be investigated, it needs to be prosecuted. We are so thankful Rep. Greene is giving her full attention to these atrocities and putting this ghastly organization under a federal microscope.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newman adds, \u201cOur U.S. Senators should pay close attention to this investigation as they make crucial decisions regarding the One Big Beautiful Bill Act which could finally defund this bloody, bloated, monstrous peddler of abortion.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
