Protest in Cincinnati one of nearly 100 nationwide calling for the defunding of abortion giant Planned Parenthood<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

March 28, 2025, Cincinnati, OH<\/strong>– On April 2, as the United States Supreme Court hears oral arguments in the case of Kerr v. Planned Parenthood<\/em> concerning state funding for the abortion provider, a protest will be held at the Planned Parenthood facility at 2314 Auburn Avenue in Cincinnati, starting at 12 noon. This event is one of nearly 100 being coordinated nationwide on April 2 by the Pro-Life Action League and Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, calling for Planned Parenthood to be stripped of all federal funding, and for all such funding to be redirected to health centers that do not perform abortions. Planned Parenthood, the nation\u2019s largest abortion chain, receives nearly $700 million in taxpayer funding every year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the Trump administration looks for places to cut government funding, pro-life advocates are pointing to the nation\u2019s largest abortion provider and their massive taxpayer subsidy. Protests will be held nationwide on April 2 in nearly 100 cities from coast to coast, supporting the defunding effort and educating the public about Planned Parenthood\u2019s central role in the abortion industry and their long record of unethical activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPlanned Parenthood claims that American women rely on them for healthcare, but a recent New York Times expose found they\u2019re spending more resources lobbying in Washington DC than they are helping women,\u201d said Laura Strietmann, Executive Director Cincinnati Right to Life. \u201cPlanned Parenthood provides less than 1% of annual pap tests and breast exams, but performs 42% of annual abortions in the U.S. They\u2019ve been defrauding Medicaid, harvesting fetal tissue for profit, and in Cincinnati, caught shielding child predators<\/a>. This controversial organization does not deserve our tax dollars.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mary Clark, longtime pro-life leader and advocate, emphasizes that pro-life advocates calling for the defunding of Planned Parenthood are adamant that no funding should be taken away from programs that help poor women and families. Every dollar taken from Planned Parenthood must be redirected to health centers that provide a wider range of services and higher standard of care than Planned Parenthood, without doing abortions. \u201cThe effort to defund Planned Parenthood has nothing to do with taking healthcare away from women. It\u2019s about taking tax dollars away from the nation\u2019s largest abortion chain,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
