Cincinnati Right to Life shares this tragic news as a reminder that abortions in Ohio are taking place at this gestational stage many times each week. A pre-born baby at 22 weeks is\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>viable outside the womb<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0and when born, can survive and grow to be a healthy child and adult. The Planned Parenthoods in Cincinnati and Dayton are\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>known for the harm done to women.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to testimony<\/a> provided during a Colorado Health and Human Services hearing on Tuesday, an 18-year-old girl died last month in connection with a 22-week abortion at the Planned Parenthood in Fort Collins, Colorado. According to testimony, Planned Parenthood allegedly admitted that it delayed getting Lexi the care she needed to survive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the hearing for House Bill 1252<\/a>, which aimed to ensure the Colorado Department of Health regulate facilities that commit second and third trimester abortions in the same manner that it regulates all other ambulatory centers in the state, Dr. Keri Kasun, testified, \u201cI am a pharmacist and \u2026 I\u2019m testifying today to honor Lexi, the young 18-year-old woman who died on February 6 after being transported to the hospital from Fort Collins Planned Parenthood. I only learned last Wednesday when a family member reached out to me. [Lexi] is a relation to one of my family members and they sought to get answers, greatly wanting answers\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Kasun explained that Alexis \u201cLexi\u201d Arguello<\/a> had just moved into her own apartment and had sought treatment for a urinary tract infection when she learned she was 22 weeks pregnant. On February 6, Lexi\u2019s grandparents, who did not know she was pregnant, were called to the hospital, and the grandfather shared the tragedy with Dr. Kasun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey could see the heroic efforts the doctors were doing to save her life, and he could see the deep concern on their faces that the situation was very dire. Her vitals were all over the place; the oxygen levels were horrible. After multiple doses of the epi and seven liters of blood, his granddaughter\u2019s\u2026 heart rate and blood pressure dropped and he [saw] in his granddaughter\u2019s face that it was her end,\u201d said Dr. Kasun. \u201c\u2026 He and his wife were devastated over the loss of their grandchild and their great-grandchild that day.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lexi died of an amniotic fluid embolism<\/a> (AFE) and developed a disseminated intravascular coagulation as a result. AFE is a life-threatening obstetric complication that can occur during a delivery or an induced abortion \u2014 the latter of which is the act of deliberately killing the preborn child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
