{"id":32167,"date":"2024-08-26T16:43:30","date_gmt":"2024-08-26T16:43:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cincinnatirighttolife.org\/?p=32167"},"modified":"2024-08-26T16:43:30","modified_gmt":"2024-08-26T16:43:30","slug":"kamala-harris-promises-to-impose-abortion-on-all-50-states-as-president","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cincinnatirighttolife.org\/kamala-harris-promises-to-impose-abortion-on-all-50-states-as-president\/","title":{"rendered":"Kamala Harris Promises to Impose Abortion on All 50 States as President"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\"><strong><em>By:  Ben Johnson, originally published <a href=\"https:\/\/washingtonstand.com\/news\/kamala-harris-promises-to-impose-abortion-on-all-50-states-as-president\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">August 23, 2024, The Washington Stand<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Kamala Harris promised to use the federal government to expand abortion nationwide, because Americans cannot \u201ctruly be prosperous\u201d without abortion, and pro-life Americans are \u201cout of their minds,\u201d said Harris while accepting the Democratic presidential nomination Thursday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Harris basked in the glow of the audience as she stood at the podium of the United Center in Chicago to deliver an acceptance speech long on personal history but slight on policy specifics, aside from a vow to extend the abortion industry into all 50 states, irrespective of each state\u2019s individual laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cWhen Congress passes a bill to restore reproductive freedom, as president of the United States, I will proudly sign it into law,\u201d candidate Harris\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/sbaprolife\/status\/1826820478343815389\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">vowed<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Jarringly, as Harris made those remarks, the official DNC video feed of the acceptance speech panned out to feature\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BrentScher\/status\/1826823577863082445\/history\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a baby in the crowd<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Although Harris did not name a specific bill, the Biden-Harris administration has\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2022\/05\/11\/statement-from-president-biden-on-the-senate-vote-on-the-womens-health-protection-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">endorsed<\/a>, the so-called\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/washingtonstand.com\/commentary\/wh-spokesperson-admits-biden-is-extremist-here-are-7-examples\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cWomen\u2019s Health Protection\u201d Act<\/a>, which goes far beyond the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling by striking down more than\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.guttmacher.org\/infographic\/2022\/us-states-have-enacted-1381-abortion-restrictions-roe-v-wade-was-decided-1973\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1,300<\/a>\u00a0state\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usccb.org\/resources\/Fact%20Sheet%20WHPA%202021%20revised.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pro-life protections<\/a>\u00a0including laws:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Prohibiting sex-selective abortions;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Barring many abortions after viability;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Preventing abortions on babies 20 weeks or older, who are capable of feeling pain;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Disallowing abortions undertaken without parental consent or notification;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Prohibiting telemedicine abortion drug prescriptions, which involve no in-person medical examination;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Banning unlicensed individuals from carrying out abortions;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Allowing pregnant mothers to receive scientifically accurate information about their babies\u2019 development, or to see an ultrasound or hear the child\u2019s fetal heartbeat; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Allowing pro-life medical professionals the right to refuse to participate in an abortion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">A more modest national abortion expansion bill,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.murkowski.senate.gov\/press\/release\/-murkowski-reiterates-strong-support-for-codification-of-roe-v-wade-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dubbed<\/a>\u00a0the Reproductive Choice Act co-sponsored by Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), would reestablish the guidelines of the Roe and Casey decisions. However, Senate Democrats and the Biden-Harris administration have favored the more sweeping, top-down WHP bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The abortion issue emerged as the convention\u2019s defining issue, referred to by one speaker after another. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), an outspoken advocate of national abortion expansion and regulation of pro-life pregnancy resource centers, promised earlier in the evening that Kamala Harris will \u201ctake on the right-wing extremists who think they should decide who has access to abortion or IVF. Kamala will protect abortion rights nationwide.\u201d Warren inadvertently put abortion in a separate category from health care, stating that the Democratic Party\u2019s agenda consisted of \u201cgroceries, gas, housing, health care, taxes, abortion.\u201d Earlier in the evening, former Rep. Gabrielle Gifford of Arizona, who was shot while in office, said, \u201cKamala can beat the gun lobby. &#8230; She will protect abortion access!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Harris\u2019s acceptance speech signaled a further break with past candidates such as President Bill Clinton, who spoke on Wednesday night; as candidate, Clinton said abortion should be \u201csafe, legal, and rare.\u201d Harris, who has spent much of the last two years since the Dobbs decision as the White House point person on abortion, extolled abortion as a vital component of American liberty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cI believe America cannot truly be prosperous unless Americans are fully able to make their own decisions about their own lives,\u201d said Harris moments before invoking \u201creproductive freedom,\u201d the convention\u2019s preferred euphemism for abortion-on-demand. Her words echoed those of Oprah Winfrey on Thursday night that abortion is part of \u201cthe American dream.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Pro-life advocates pushed back forcefully on the notion. \u201cNot being allowed to kill your child does not equate to slavery,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BryanKemper\/status\/1826755272607764907\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">responded<\/a>\u00a0Bryan Kemper, an Ohio-based pro-life advocate.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">In office, Harris has seen her administration give the green light for abortionists to mail the abortion pill, mifepristone, to pro-life states in violation of federal law and furnish taxpayer-funded leave to pregnant members of the military who travel out of pro-life states to undergo an abortion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Moments after promising to allow surgical abortion throughout the country, Harris slammed her political opponents for pro-life positions they never adopted. \u201cWe know, and we know what a second Trump term would look like. It\u2019s all laid out in Project 2025,\u201d insisted Harris, although CNN\u2019s fact-checker ranked Democrats\u2019 continual references to the Heritage Foundation project \u2014 which President Trump has publicly disdained \u2014\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/kylenabecker\/status\/1826513047201944040\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">false<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Trump \u201cand his allies would limit access to birth control, ban medication abortion, and enact a nationwide abortion ban, with or without Congress,\u201d Harris claimed. \u201cAnd get this \u2014 get this! He plans to create a national anti-abortion coordinator, and force states to report on women\u2019s miscarriages and abortions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cSimply put, they are out of their minds,\u201d Harris thundered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The demur 2024 Republican Party platform does not promise to enact any federal pro-life protection and leaves all new legislation protecting the unborn to the states, a position President Trump has reiterated consistently. His campaign and allies denied Harris\u2019s allegations. \u201cFact Check: there is no circumstance in which Trump wants to track and monitor miscarriages,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BasedMikeLee\/status\/1826816589087605115\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">retorted<\/a>\u00a0Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah).\u00a0\u201cPresident Trump has REPEATEDLY stated he will not sign a federal abortion ban. Kamala is a liar,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/kleavittnh\/status\/1826816494111785002\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>\u00a0Trump 2024 National Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Yet Harris\u2019s speech indicates efforts to distance the GOP from the pro-life issue have failed, and that the Democrats see abortion as anything but a state issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">In economic policy, Harris vowed, \u201cWe will pass a middle-class tax cut that will benefit more than 100 million Americans.\u201d To date, the Biden-Harris administration has proposed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/waysandmeans.house.gov\/2024\/03\/14\/the-biden-tax-hike-will-likely-exceed-7-trillion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$7 trillion in tax hikes<\/a>, according to the Republican-controlled House Ways and Means Committee.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">She also promised \u201cto create jobs, to grow our economy and to lower the cost of everyday needs like health care and housing and groceries,\u201d as well as to \u201cend America\u2019s housing shortage, and protect Social Security and Medicare.\u201d The Biden-Harris administration presided over near-record inflation levels that peaked at 9.1% in June 2022, increasing the prices of all household staples. \u201cA loaf of bread costs 50% more today than it did before the pandemic,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/08\/16\/us-news\/kamala-harris-admits-food-prices-have-surged-under-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">admitted<\/a>\u00a0Harris last Friday. \u201cGround beef is up almost 50%.\u201d The price of a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/charts\/consumer-price-index\/consumer-price-index-average-price-data.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">gallon of gasoline<\/a>\u00a0has increased from $2.33 in January 2021 to $3.62. \u201cIt costs a family an extra $13,300 per year for the same house compared to January 2021,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritage.org\/housing\/commentary\/bidens-housing-headache\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>\u00a0Kevin Roberts of the Heritage Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Harris accused President Trump of seeking to enact \u201ca national sales tax, call it a Trump tax, that would raise prices on middle-class families.\u201d She is referring to his statement that he may consider an across-the-board tariff on foreign-made goods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Like the Democratic campaign before President Joe Biden exited the race, much of the party\u2019s rhetoric aims at demonizing President Donald Trump and placing him beyond the pale as a figure committed to overturning \u201cour democracy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cThe consequences of putting Donald Trump back in the White House are extremely serious,\u201d Harris insisted on Thursday night. \u201cHe sent an armed mob to the U.S. Capitol, where they assaulted law enforcement officers. When politicians in his own party begged him to call off the mob and send help, he did the opposite \u2014 he fanned the flames.\u201d In fact, President Trump encouraged marchers to walk to the Capitol \u201cpeacefully\u201d and posted a video online asking them to disperse \u2014 a video online platforms later suppressed or removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cConsider what he intends to do if we give him power again. Consider his explicit intent to set free violent extremists who assaulted those law enforcement officers at the Capitol; his explicit intent to jail journalists, political opponents, and anyone he sees as the enemy; his explicit intent to deploy our active-duty military against our own citizens,\u201d said Harris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The threat her opponent may lock up journalists rang hollow to investigator David Daleiden of the Center for Medical Progress. Daleiden and Sandra Merritt published undercover videos showing officials at the highest levels of Planned Parenthood describing how they perform a potentially illegal partial birth abortion to harvest and sell aborted babies\u2019 organs to scientific researchers. After pushback from the abortion industry, then-California Attorney General Kamala Harris prosecuted the undercover reporters for filming Planned Parenthood without their express permission\u2014something Daleiden\u2019s lawyer, Harmeet Dhillon, likened to \u201c60 Minutes\u201d investigations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Daleiden accused Harris of being \u201c\u2018unburdened by what has been\u2019 in 2016.\u201d Daleiden\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/daviddaleiden\/status\/1826826242223735103\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reminded<\/a>\u00a0Harris, \u201cAs a citizen journalist, I had my home raided, work product seized at gunpoint, and spent an afternoon behind bars because of your fealty to\u201d Planned Parenthood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Harris attempted to appeal to moderate and undecided voters, promising to abide by the rule of law. \u201cI know there are people of various political views watching tonight. And I want you to know, I promise to be a president for all Americans. You can always trust me to put country above party and self,\u201d Harris proclaimed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">That echoes a promise repeatedly made at the outset of the Biden-Harris administration, which\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/washingtonstand.com\/commentary\/joe-biden-the-bull-connor-of-the-proabortion-movement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">critics say<\/a>\u00a0turned out to be false. \u201cI will work as hard for those who didn\u2019t vote for me as those who did,\u201d Biden\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/5-times-the-biden-administration-laughed-at-your-pain\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">promised<\/a>\u00a0just\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2020\/11\/07\/read-joe-biden-acceptance-speech-full-text.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">one day after<\/a>\u00a0the media declared him winner of the 2020 election. Biden made the same promise in his\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.presidency.ucsb.edu\/documents\/inaugural-address-53\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">inaugural address<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Once in power, the Biden-Harris administration oversaw the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/washingtonstand.com\/news\/fbis-trump-raid-is-overreach-politicization-and-weaponization-of-the-police-state-congressman-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">first FBI raid<\/a>\u00a0on the home of a former president,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/washingtonstand.com\/news\/biden-doj-convicts-four-more-prolifers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">prosecuted<\/a>\u00a0peaceful pro-life advocates such as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/washingtonstand.com\/news\/for-the-first-time-in-history-we-have-two-systems-of-justice-congresswoman-and-fmr-doj-official-agree\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mark Houck<\/a>, and attempted to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/washingtonstand.com\/commentary\/house-republicans-probe-into-fbi-effort-to-recruit-informants-in-catholic-churches--\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recruit informants<\/a>\u00a0inside traditional Roman Catholic churches. This administration\u2019s targeting of its political enemies has become so outlandish that the House Judiciary Committee formed a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/subcommittees\/committee-judiciary-118th-congress\/select-subcommittee-weaponization-federal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government<\/a>\u00a0to investigate it on a case-by-case basis.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Harris\u2019s critics, especially her Republican opponent, noted that Harris has attempted to distance herself from her own record over the last three years, and to feign powerlessness as the sitting vice president of the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cWhy didn\u2019t she do the things that she\u2019s complaining about?\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/bennyjohnson\/status\/1826823749548564975\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">asked<\/a>\u00a0Trump immediately after the speech on Fox News \u201cShe could have done it three and a half years ago &#8230; and she could still do them. She\u2019s got four-and-a-half, five months left.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cShe didn\u2019t talk about China.&nbsp;She didn\u2019t talk about&nbsp;fracking.&nbsp;She didn\u2019t talk about&nbsp;crime. &#8230; She didn\u2019t talk about housing really, the trade deficit.&nbsp;She didn\u2019t talk about&nbsp;child trafficking that she\u2019s allowed to happen, because she\u2019s the Border Czar and she\u2019s presided over the weakest border.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cShe talks, but she doesn\u2019t do. There\u2019s no action.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Harris\u2019s speech concluded the 2024 Democratic National Convention.
