Harris can\u2019t reconcile her extremism with Americans\u2019 views on abortion, so she\u2019s lying about Trump\u2019s position instead.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an attempt to cover up her own abortion extremism<\/a>, Vice President Kamala Harris laced her Democratic National Convention speech with lies accusing former President Donald Trump and Republicans of being radicals whose views are out of line with most of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harris reaffirmed from the\u00a0stage in Chicago on Thursday night<\/a>\u00a0that she believes anyone should be allowed to end their baby\u2019s life through all nine months of pregnancy for any reason.\u00a0Most Americans<\/a>\u00a0oppose Democrats\u2019 unlimited abortion agenda, but that didn\u2019t stop Harris from pretending Americans desire the death and danger that comes with her plan to pass legislation that would codify baby-killing until birth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd when Congress passes a bill to restore reproductive freedom, as President of the United States, I will proudly sign it into law,\u201d Harris declared.<\/p>\n\n\n

Harris\u2019 first lie was claiming that a national law greenlighting widespread abortion would \u201crestore reproductive freedom\u201d instead of accurately noting that it would subject thousands of babies and women, nearly 70 percent of whom felt their abortions<\/a> were forced, unwanted, or contradicted their views, to harm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ever since the Supreme Court\u2019s\u00a0Dobbs v. Jackson\u00a0<\/em>decision, Democrats have\u00a0falsely claimed<\/a>\u00a0that doctors are no longer permitted to treat ectopic pregnancies or miscarriages. Harris specifically told her DNC audience on Thursday, however, that the lifesaving laws\u00a0designed to protect\u00a0thousands of innocents<\/a>\u00a0every year from\u00a0elective abortions<\/a>\u00a0prevent women suffering from spontaneous pregnancy loss or complications from receiving the care they need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ll tell you over the past two years I\u2019ve traveled across our country and women have told me their stories husbands and fathers have shared their stories of women miscarrying in a parking lot, developing sepsis, losing the ability to ever again have children all because doctors are afraid they may go to jail for caring for their patients,\u201d Harris claimed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a clear legal distinction between an induced abortion, which deliberately intends to end the life of the baby, and the medically classified \u201cspontaneous abortions\u201d such as an ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, or early delivery with the intent of saving the baby and mother.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

States that limit when life in the womb can be ended do not criminalize treatments for spontaneous loss or complications. In fact, every single pro-life law on the books now contains exceptions for abortion when it is deemed necessary to save the life of a pregnant woman. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harris\u2019 lies, however, did not stop there. Instead, she pivoted to attacking Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In just 45 seconds, Harris falsely accused her challenger of trying to \u201climit access to birth control,\u201d ban the most popular<\/a> and dangerous<\/a> abortifacient drug regime on the market, \u201cenact a nationwide abortion ban with or without Congress,\u201d name \u201ca national anti-abortion coordinator,\u201d and \u201cforce states to report on women\u2019s miscarriages and abortions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not one word of that spiel is true.<\/p>\n\n\n

Trump\u2019s\u00a02024 abortion platform<\/a>\u00a0explicitly states decisions about ending life in the womb should be left \u201cup to the states.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For months now, the GOP presidential nominee swore he would not sign federal legislation curbing abortion<\/a>. His running mate Sen. J.D. Vance, similarly claimed<\/a> the pill responsible<\/a> for a 500 percent increase<\/a> in abortion-related emergency room visits should remain legal and \u201caccessible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contrary to Harris\u2019 assertions, the former president has not made crowning a national pro-life coordinator a hallmark of his campaign. Nor has he demanded better abortion reporting, despite the lack of baby-killing data from radical states like\u00a0California, Maryland, New Hampshire, and New Jersey<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harris tried to pretend that Trump is to blame if a family gets \u201ccut off in the middle of IVF treatments children\u201d but Trump has openly touted in vitro fertilization<\/a>, even though it is marred with ethical and moral pitfalls, as a procedure that Republicans and pro-life conservatives should promote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump confirmed his positions on abortion, birth control, and IVF again in a post to Truth Social during Harris\u2019 speech on Thursday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI do not limit access to birth control or I.V.F. \u2013 THAT IS A LIE, these are all false stories that she\u2019s making up, that I\u2019ve never even heard of. It\u2019s just words coming out of her mouth,\u201d Trump\u00a0wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n

Harris\u2019 litany of lies was well-deserving of a fact-check, but many of the major media outlets that pride themselves on nitpicking everything Trump says, including\u00a0CNN<\/a>,\u00a0MSNBC<\/a>,\u00a0NBC<\/a>, CBS and\u00a0Mediaite<\/a>, chose to elevate and celebrate Harris\u2019 deception-riddled abortion rhetoric instead.<\/p>\n\n\n

The few corporate media outlets that did bother to \u201cfact-check\u201d Harris\u2019 speech downplayed her falsehoods. CNN specifically suggested that Harris\u2019 incredibly inaccurate accusations about Trump\u2019s pro-life track record merely \u201cleft out some important context.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere weren\u2019t a lot of fact-checkable claims tonight period,\u201d CNN\u2019s Daniel Dale\u00a0told<\/a>\u00a0Jake Tapper during his on-air analysis of Harris\u2019 speech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
