Today, April 19, 2023, Senate Joint Resolution 2\u00a0(SJR2<\/a>), and\u00a0Senate Bill 92\u00a0(SB92<\/a>) were voted out of the Ohio Senate in the afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We now need House Joint Resolution (<\/strong>HJR1<\/a>)<\/strong> and House Bill 144 (<\/strong>HB144<\/a>)<\/strong>, companions to the Senate legislation, to be passed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The resolutions and bills would safeguard Ohio from outside special interest groups and would protect our Constitution. Right now it takes a simple majority of 50% + 1 to change our Constitution. These changes would align Ohio with over 32 other states in protecting change to our state’s foundation and require a 60% voter threshold to amend our Constitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please tell your Ohio representative to protect the Ohio constitution from deceptive amendments by passing HJR1.<\/strong>
Please ask them to stop abortion radicals!<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of state billionaires are planning on buying a spot on the Ohio ballot come November. Their goal: to forever change the Ohio constitution by deceiving the people of Ohio into accepting abortion on demand.Amazingly, in Ohio, well-funded lobby groups can come in with tens of millions of dollars and hire circulators to gather signatures to put their pet issue on the ballot. Right now, it is the right to abortion, which a coalition of liberal billionaires led by the Governor of California are attempting to force on the good people of Ohio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The only way to defeat the manipulation of the process, and protect the Ohio constitution, is to make it harder to amend the constitution through the ballot process.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The time to do it is NOW, while there is still a constitution left to preserve! Legislators in Ohio have introduced HJR1 to do just that.\u00a0This resolution by the Ohio legislature would call a special election in August to ask Ohioans to amend the state constitution and require 60% of the people to agree on constitutional amendments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
