The measure was led by Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey, who wrote that he and his fellow Republican attorneys general, including Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, wanted to offer \u201cthoughts on the current legal landscape.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The attorneys general also spend time in the letter explaining&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/r20.rs6.net\/tn.jsp?f=0011gM1KHxO_h9ioTnQSe7ICfONjRJUI4HmRy_6dQVRdXC8oux-ueq4Bt5FPNURBSn4vi8dZerav8mztxgZPSNykMumELnlrMKPyN8GbRkr6UzzaItPKGFi158uMFRuaO4buGrKdVQztRl0bUHIBvbvCQElQm8tMbJmQr7q_IafjW_NOjADLiog9g==&amp;c=KnIdtymHzc9Ud4Q1hGcNC3hVcXrhLMq8mIjOpRWS7PMkZl2hMzwRTg==&amp;ch=Dq52itPB4g4ygpGxVETTHZuGV09ScatYNOc5EGM6Dmg_EnpvtvqhJg==\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a federal law<\/a>&nbsp;on \u201cmailing obscene or crime-inciting matter\u201d which includes a ban on \u201cevery article or thing designed, adapted or intended for producing abortion, or for any indecent or immoral use.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">In the letter, the chief legal officers for the states claim the Biden administration\u2019s Office of Legal Counsel opinion that the U.S. Postal Service should \u201cdisregard\u201d the text in federal law \u201cfails to stand up even to the slightest amount of scrutiny.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cCourts do not lightly ignore the plain text of statutes,\u201d Bailey wrote in the letter.
